Recorded from hammered dulcimer, kantele, and psaltery with Ebow, hammers, nails, and bow, Resonance captures the fragile beauty that happens between stillness and motion. Each sound breathes naturally, shaped by random particles, subtle rattles, and gentle trails that linger like echoes in a room long after the player has stopped.

Multi-sampled Kantele, Dulcimer and Psaltery

Resonance is a Playable MICRON library designed around the tactile purity of acoustic plucks. Dulcimer, Kantele, and Psaltery recorded in multiple articulations: finger, nail, hammer, Ebow, and bow. Real mechanical resonance captured — strings softly touched by metal, wood, or air. Trails, reversed decays, and natural “after-life” motion layers for depth and emotion. Processed pads, shimmers and more which retain the living breath of strings. MICRON RESONANCE includes samples of Kantele played with Fingers, nails, and sticks. in both mic'ed and piezo versions; an hammered dulcimer played with fingers, felt hammers and wood hammers (sticks); and a Psaltery played with fingers and Sticks in both mic'ed and piezo versions. All with multiple velocity layers and round robins. In addition to that, we recorded them using a violin bow and an Ebow to create textures that go from gentle sine vibrations to scratchy and dramatic soundscapes.

• The XY Playable libraries are designed for more conventional musical performance, allowing users to play chords or melodies.
• It requires Kontakt's full retail version. It will not work with the free Kontakt Player. Sounds And Presets Installation requires the PULSE DOWNLOADER
• Layer Range Definition: A key distinguishing feature is the ability to define the keyboard range for each individual layer. This is useful for creating keyboard splits or ensuring specific sound sources (e.g., bass) don’t overpower certain frequency ranges. Layers can also be set to progressively fade out across their defined range.
• Features include the XY pad for crossfading, individual volume, sound selection, mute/solo buttons, waveform display, and per-layer controls for pan, pitch, attack, release, low-pass/high-pass filters, sample start, “dirt” (saturation/compression/distortion), delay, and convolution reverb with over 150 impulse responses. Master controls for portamento and randomization are also universally present. All XY libraries also offer a separate output option for each of the four layers.
