JRR Sounds XS-1 Sample Set

You would be forgiven for asking the obvious question: why? What could a primitive all digital rompler from the early 90's have to offer compared to the multi-Gigabyte sample libraries of today? Surprisingly, the keyboard version of the XS-1, the KC10 Spectra, is said to have been used by many great Detroit Techno, Acid House, and Warp Records artists, and that primitive rompler sound does make it stand apart from more realistic samples, much the way it does with the ubiquitous Korg M1. The pianos and keys are particularly compressed and punchy sounding in a way that a real piano is not.

XS-1 Sample Set consists of 96 patches and 2.3GB of audio painstakingly sampled through vintage UTC isolation transformers and state-of-the-art Lynx conversion. The presets are individually named.

To install your new JRR Sounds library, simply move your downloaded zip file to your favorite sample folder and extract it from there. A folder called JRR Sounds will be created and inside it will be the individual folders for any JRR Sounds libraries you have purchased. If you have already purchased JRR Sounds libraries in the past, the new folder(s) will now show up in the JRR Sounds folder that had previously been created.

Once installed, please either drag and drop or open your new library from within your compatible sampler plugin.
