Mitch Murder
Mitch Murder is a Swedish producer who rose from early internet obscurity to become one of synthwave’s most recognizable architects. He broke through with his 2009 debut After Hours, quickly followed by defining albums like Current Events, Burning Chrome, and Interceptor. His melodic hooks, polished retro production, and 80s spirit shaped the sound of modern synthwave – long before it became a global genre.
His pop-culture breakthrough came with the cult phenomenon Kung Fury, where he co-created the David Hasselhoff anthem “True Survivor.” Its mix of heroic 80s bombast, cinematic drama, and irresistibly melodic writing turned it into a viral classic—cementing Mitch Murder as a go-to architect of authentic retro-future energy.
These days, his palette stretches far beyond pure synthwave, blending shimmering 80s city-pop, fusion-flavored funk, and even flashes of 90s–00s DnB and house into his signature sound. Playful, precise, and always drenched in nostalgia, Mitch Murder’s music is a love letter to the past, rewritten with a wired-up vision of the future.
