Description

VEQ-1A is not your typical EQ, it offers flexible control over the low and high end and hides many tricks up its sleeve. The unit offers low shelving and broad-bandwidth mid-peak control. VEQ-1A allows for the simultaneous cut and boost of the same frequency, the so-called Pultec EQ trick, which gives the sound a unique quality you can’t get with another EQ. Massive bass, gentle highs, and analog richness – these knobs surely do some vintage magic.

With such a unique design and control set, VEQ-1A is extremely versatile. The unit is equally suited for treating individual vocals, drums, guitar, and synth tracks and for fine-tuning full mixes.

History

The original that inspired VEQ-1A was manufactured from 1961 until 1971. Then its original 3U design was replaced by a smaller 2U unit with a silver faceplate. While the second revision was essentially identical it was the “true blue unit” that remained carved deeper in the hearts of the pros. Needless to say, it was exactly this unit that we researched and recreated, not missing a single detail of its original tube-driven analog design.
